What kind of American English do you speak?

I've always thought that my Hoosier speech was pretty "normal" American English. Now I've got proof! I'll never bring myself to call a Coke a soda... it will forever be a "pop" in my vobabulary.

  9. My mom and dad asked where my Dixie came from. I think that's pretty funny. I think my Dixie comes from Kevin... influenced by his Kentucky-born hillbilly relatives. When Kevin and I first met, I listened to his speech and thought oh my! He sounds like a hillbilly! After nearly 10 years since we first started dating... I don't hear it so much anymore.

  13. Karen, I think you've successfully washed your hair of anything "hillbilly." I didn't see a bit of pickled bologna or shotguns hung on the wall when I visited your house... but I know which of your relatives homes I can find those things in! Beware, you could increase your Dixie percentage down there with them Texans. My question is, where did that Yankee come from?
